Collection: THE OPIUM-SMOKING WHITE ELEPHANT

Between tradition, the spirit world and digital vision

Discover the extraordinary imagery of Thai artist Opium-smoking white elephant, whose work is created at the intersection of animistic tradition and artificial intelligence. In Thailand, spirits, nature beings and invisible forces are part of everyday life – they exist alongside Buddhism as a matter of course and shape rituals, narratives and family protection practices. This spiritual reality forms the core of his art.

Through the use of AI, the artist experiences an astonishing resonance: the hallucinatory images created by the machines seem to intuitively reveal a second reality in which plant spirits, mushroom beings, ancestral souls and natural forces are alive. He is often amazed at how precisely AI captures and transforms these hidden layers of his culture.

His series Sacred Mushrooms and Flowers, Buddha's Smile and Ancient Future Colourful combine traditional Thai aesthetics, iconic postures and ritualistic motifs with a futuristic, dreamlike, condensed AI visual language. Flowers, wings, mushrooms, water carriers, forest spirits and cosmic elements merge into visions that hover between the past and the future.

At the same time, the works show a surprising proximity to Western Art Brut: a raw, intuitive, untamed formal language in which inner worlds flow directly into the image. It is precisely in this field of tension that the artist develops a new, independent form of digital spirituality.
