This work from the series Sacred Mushrooms and Flowers shows a female figure who appears to be a priestess of an ancient temple of nature. Surrounded by a network of mushrooms, flowers and organic ornaments, she seems like a being from an intermediate world in which humans and nature are inextricably linked. The AI merges her robe and skin with floral patterns – spore structures, flower veins and golden lines grow out of her body like living energy.
In the background, a tropical, almost cosmic twilight hints at the presence of spirits and plant beings, which have been part of everyday reality in Thai animism for centuries. The figure embodies this belief: a silent mediator who walks between the visible and invisible worlds. Her calm expression conveys the inner composure that is common in ritual representations in Southeast Asia.
The hallucinatory clarity of AI elevates the scene to a visionary icon. For the Opium-smoking white elephant, this reveals a deep resonance between the spirit world of his culture and the intuitive imagery of AI. At the same time, the expressive directness is reminiscent of the raw power of Western art brut: unadorned, immediate and full of symbolic truth.
