Julien Bonet – Architect

A body crammed into massive concrete blocks, immobile yet supporting. The figure of the architect is both a monument and a warning – a symbol for those who build cities but themselves threaten to collapse under their weight. It evokes the dialectic of modernity: visions that storm the skies and burdens that anchor themselves to the ground.

Bonet's work addresses an age-old ambivalence: the builder as both creator and victim of his own constructions. Between the utopian design and the real concrete, there is the experience of confinement—the realization that architecture not only shapes spaces but also constrains bodies. The sculptural impact of the costume speaks of power, responsibility, but also the burden of the legacy that each generation leaves behind.

In the series "Masked Men," the architect becomes an allegory of a society that builds on progress without ever questioning the traces it leaves on humanity. A silent figure whose weight speaks louder than words.
