Clint Enns – Renaissance Art in the Era of AI
A room like a museum, but the pathos has decayed: on the floor, a chaos of animal carcasses, dolls' bodies, and waste. On the wall, a painting full of baroque bodies, heavy with flesh and mythological exuberance. In between, figures, half-living, half-statue—and a man standing with his back to the viewer, as if passing judgment on the ruins of art history.
Clint Enns stages a grotesque allegory here: the Renaissance, which once evoked the ideal of humanity, becomes a backdrop of ruins in the age of AI. The body, once the epitome of beauty, disintegrates into artificial fragments; the rich material of painting dissolves into digital simulations. What remains is the emptiness between quotation and decomposition—a macabre standstill in which the past no longer seems sublime, but merely comical and monstrous.
