Clint Enns – Couple with Dog
A young couple sits in a room descended into chaos: plates, leftover food, and garbage pile up around them. On the sofa next to them sits a white dog, almost becoming a silent third figure in the frame. Nothing seems staged, yet everything is staged—the catastrophe as everyday life, the private as a stage.
Clint Enns' Couple with Dog depicts not harmony, but alienation. The bodies speak past each other: he stares into space, she half-turns away. The apartment, which was meant to be a sanctuary, has become a landscape of rubble, a metaphor for the disintegration of intimacy and order.
The fact that the AI creates this scene points to a paradox: trained on idealized images of love and coexistence, it instead produces a study of decay. The work thus holds up a mirror to us—not as an accusation, but as a disturbing truth about how fragile intimacy truly is.
