Boris Eldagsen – No Cure for Geometry

No Cure for Geometry unfolds a quiet, oppressive visual logic in which space, body, and object are forced into a precarious equilibrium. The scene is reminiscent of a clinical interior, of modernist hospital or experimental rooms, yet any functional interpretation is futile. The geometry of the space is dominant, almost aggressive: rectangles, edges, and lines subordinate the body, fix it, and deprive it of autonomy.

It is precisely here that the specific potential of AI-generated images becomes apparent. The AI does not construct a real space, but rather a plausible impossibility. Perspectives are correct—and yet wrong. Proportions appear logical, but physically uninhabitable. Eldagsen deliberately uses this algorithmic ambivalence to liberate photography from its supposed neutrality. The image asserts visibility, yet refuses any medical, documentary, or narrative resolution.

The title is programmatic: there is no cure for this geometry. It is not a flaw, but a system. Eldagsen makes visible that AI not only produces new images, but new orders of space and meaning. Photography is not extended here, but dissected. No Cure for Geometry is an image based on testimony – cool, precise, and profoundly unsettling.
